e-Learning Project: Master the Fundamentals of Graphic Design

Graphic Design e-learning

Introduction

In my role, I have observed that many stakeholders encounter difficulties when it comes to formulating comprehensive briefs. This challenge primarily stems from a limited understanding of fundamental design principles. Recognising the importance of effective communication in project success, I identified a need for an educational solution to bridge this knowledge gap.

Action

To tackle this issue, I developed an e-learning course specifically designed to enhance stakeholders’ understanding of graphic design. This course features practical, real-life examples to ensure the material is both relevant and engaging. The development of this course was a collaborative effort with Shopee’s Learning and Development team, whose expertise was instrumental in shaping the content and delivery.

Our e-learning course covers a range of essential topics, including:

  • Digital vs. Print: Understanding the differences and unique requirements of designing for digital and print media.
  • Colour: An in-depth look at the distinctions between RGB, CMYK, and Pantone colour systems, crucial for any design project.
  • Common Design Software: An overview of the most widely used design tools, helping stakeholders choose the right software for their needs.
  • Knowledge Check: A series of questions checks to reinforce learning and ensure comprehension of key concepts.

Result

The introduction of this e-learning course has led to significant improvements in the ability of stakeholders to formulate comprehensive briefs. With a solid understanding of design principles, stakeholders can now communicate their ideas more effectively, leading to increased design efficiency and higher quality project outcomes. This initiative not only addresses the immediate educational needs of our team but also contributes to the overall success and productivity of our organisation.

Accessible through Shopee’s e-learning portal, this course is available to all employees, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. By equipping stakeholders with essential design knowledge, we are empowering them to contribute more effectively to our projects and drive our success forward.
