Social Media Content for JBL

Introduction

My key responsibilities in creative content design was to elevate the existing JBL social media content presence to appeal to a younger audience and infuse a sense of fun. I implemented new design elements to align with JBL’s brand identity while localising content for the Singaporean market. This role allowed me to combine creativity with strategic thinking to ensure the brand resonated with local audiences while maintaining global consistency.

Choosing the Right Colour Scheme

With JBL’s signature orange as a foundation, I experimented with various colour combinations to find the perfect balance. Ultimately, I selected yellow, turquoise, and pink as the secondary colours. These vibrant hues not only complemented the primary colour but also added a youthful and energetic vibe to the designs. To ensure brand consistency, the JBL logo was consistently placed at the bottom left of all designs, reinforcing brand recognition and cohesion across all social media platforms.

Lifestyle content

Some of the social media posts I created were designed for various sports events such as running, hiking, and dancing. These visuals were dynamic and engaging, capturing the spirit of each activity while promoting JBL products. Additionally, I localised the product for the Singapore market by featuring iconic landmarks like Marina Bay Sands and incorporating culturally relevant elements such as placing the speaker on a scooter. However, the client preferred to use Caucasians in the visuals to convey a prestigious image and give a sense of imported goods, which we integrated seamlessly into the design.

Showcasing Product Functions

JBL products offer impressive features like waterproofing, alarm functions, and strong bass. I crafted visuals using various design elements to highlight these functionalities effectively. By using water splashes to indicate waterproofing, alarm icons for the alarm function, and sound waves to represent strong bass, each visual clearly communicated the product’s key features to the audience.

JBL Pulse 3 Series

The JBL Pulse 3 Series features a sleek, cylindrical design with a transparent housing that allows the LED light show to shine through brilliantly. To highlight this unique feature, I applied vibrant backgrounds that complemented the product beautifully. The dynamic light shows and colourful backgrounds together created a visually stunning effect that captured the attention of potential customers.

Artist collaboration

Lastly, I crafted a collaboration visual with the popular band DNCE, who were performing a concert in Singapore. This visual highlighted the synergy between the energetic vibe of the band and JBL’s vibrant brand identity. By incorporating elements from both the band’s aesthetic and JBL’s branding, I created a compelling piece that resonated with fans and potential customers alike.

Conclusion

My role as Lead Designer for JBL involved a strategic and creative approach to elevate the brand’s social media presence. By choosing the right colour schemes, localising content, and showcasing product functions effectively, I was able to create engaging and visually appealing content that resonated with the target audience. Digital imaging and image editing skills were crucial in achieving these results, enabling the creation of stunning visuals that captured the audience’s attention and reinforced JBL’s brand identity. These skills not only enhanced the quality of the visuals but also played a significant role in the overall success of the creative projects.
